Not necessarily a funny story, but one that I personally enjoyed being a part of this past week:
On Tuesday night I went out with Bread of Life to visit my friends living on the streets in Downtown. While handing out meals I realized how important and how unlike any ministry I have served with in the past compares with this one. Our evening started by having a birthday celebration for Pedro, a man who turned fifty the day before. As we sang "Happy Birthday" to him in Spanish a glimpse of the kingdom came into my mind. We were doing ministry as Jesus had so once intended. While we by no means changed his life, we were living life with him and showing him how we didn't care where he came from or how he even ended up on the streets. Simply, we were there to show him how we love him and wanted to be with him to celebrate his day of birth.
Happy Birthday Pedro!
